Qualifications and Experience


Stan is the specialist for Educational Technology and Online Learning, working out of the Office of Academics and Professional Learning at the New Hampshire Department of Education.  Stan is currently the face of New Hampshire Ed Tech, which supports several initiatives and projects for NH schools and districts.

Stan supports educational technology in New Hampshire schools by reviewing school Information and Communication Technologies Literacy programs, soon to be renamed as Digital Literacy, as part of the school approval process.  He also works with schools and district in developing living technology plans that support teachers and students.  He also supports districts, teachers, and students with implementation of the Information and Communication Technologies Literacy K-12 programs.  As administrator and creative developer of NHEON.org, the online resource from New Hampshire Educational Technology, Stan maintains the ICT Literacy, Technology Planning, and Title IV-A Toolkits offered on NHEON.org, along with all the other information and resources offered through NHEON.org.

Stan received bachelor’s degrees in both physics and biology; and has earned master’s degrees in limnology and oceanography and in education.  He also earned a graduate certificate in Educational Technology and Online Learning.   Stan also serves the Boards of the New Hampshire Society for Technology in Education and New Hampshire Agriculture in the Classroom.  

As a classroom teacher, Stan has taught a wide range of sciences at both the middle and high school levels.  He has also taught and developed science and education courses at the college level, both in the online and face to face environments.  Stan completed advanced training in both teaching and developing online courses for both K-12 students and adults.  Stan currently maintains memberships in the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA.org), the New Hampshire Society for Technology in Education (NHSTE.org), and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE.org).  In 2015, Stan received an Extraordinary Service Certificate from the Governor in recognition for his work on a team developing an online learning platform for the State of New Hampshire.  In 2017, the State Educational Technology Directors Association named him SETDA Leader of the Year.  At the Christa McAuliffe Transforming Teaching and Technology Conference in November, 2019, Stan was the recipient of the ISTE Making IT Happen Award from the New Hampshire Society for Technolgoy in Education.
