Developing a Standards Based Approach to Family and Consumer Sciences in the Digital Age
In this workshop, you will explore the Family and Consumer Science Process Framework for the National Standards for Family and Consumer Sciences with respect to connections and relationships to the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers and Students. Teaching and learning in the 21st Century requires a collaborative and student centered approach. The Common Core State Standards require a technology rich, discussion based approach that focuses on process. The New Hampshire Minimum Standards require an integrated approach to information and communication technologies literacy in our schools. This workshop will support a collaborative environment in which discussion and sharing among all participants will help you build your understanding of how your teaching practices fit into these standards. You are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, or other device is necessary to access online resources during the workshop, but it is not a requirement for participation.
